Methods & Curriculum

Rosa combines four proven methods to meet each student exactly where they are.

Ages 3+

The Suzuki Method

Music learned like a language — through listening, repetition, and internalizing before reading. Rosa is certified in Violin Books 1–4 through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. This method builds a deep, natural relationship with the instrument from the very first lesson.

Beginners

Wee Violin

Designed specifically for very young beginners, Wee Violin introduces students to the instrument gently and joyfully. The focus is on building tone, posture, and love for music — without pressure or overwhelm.

Intermediate–Advanced

Cabrillo College Curriculum

College-level music theory, technique, and repertoire integrated into private lessons. Ideal for students who want depth and rigor alongside their performance work — the same curriculum Rosa studied and taught at Cabrillo.

All Ages

Music Mind Games

A certified, game-based approach to music theory that makes reading music intuitive and genuinely fun. Students absorb note names, rhythms, and intervals through play — building literacy that sticks.

FAQ

Students as young as 4 years old are welcome using the Wee Violin method. There is no upper age limit — adult beginners are always welcome.
It helps, but reach out first. Rosa can guide you on the right size and where to rent before your first lesson — especially important for young students.
Even 10–15 minutes of daily practice makes a huge difference for young beginners. Consistency beats long sessions. Rosa gives clear practice assignments at the end of every lesson.
Absolutely. Adult learners at any level — complete beginners to returning players — are welcome. The 60-minute format works especially well for adults.
