Cello Lessons · Watsonville, CA
Private cello lessons at Rosa's home studio in Watsonville — years of chamber, symphony, and theater pit performance, Suzuki-certified instructor, 10+ years teaching. Ages 4 and up.
Why Learn Cello with Rosa
The cello sings — and Rosa teaches it the way it deserves to be learned: with the ears of a chamber musician. Alongside her Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Cum Laude, San Jose State, 2021) and AA in Music with Honors from Cabrillo College, she brings years of chamber, symphony, and theater pit performance into every cello lesson at her home studio in Watsonville.
That ensemble background shapes how she teaches: tone production and bow control from day one, the patience to build posture that lasts, and an instinct for musical phrasing that only comes from playing alongside others. Young beginners start with the fundamentals through a Suzuki-based approach; advancing students work on shifting, vibrato, tenor clef, and audition repertoire with a teacher who has performed it.
Today Rosa is the Upper Strings Teaching Artist for YOSAL and the String Methods Instructor at Georgiana Bruce Kirby Preparatory School in Santa Cruz — and she takes private cello students of all ages in Watsonville. Booking is by request through the booking form, and Rosa replies herself to confirm your spot. Se habla español — Spanish-speaking families are warmly welcomed.

A certified, game-based approach to music theory that makes reading music — including tenor clef down the road — intuitive and genuinely fun.

Youth symphony auditions, school orchestra parts, and chamber coaching — guided by a musician who has performed in all of them.
